Saucy Stuff!

I'm a big fan of sauces. I can't bear the thought of eating a non-Indian meal without sauce. Seriously. If it's burgers, there's got to be ketchup. If it's pizza, there has to be Tabasco. I'm the sort of guy who throws Worcestershire Sauce into scrambled eggs (which, by the way, tasted divine!) and can eat barbecue sauce with anything. Here's a collection of ads
for various sauces:

This one was printed in Australia, and is a good example of doing lots with very little.

This one was a live hoarding put up in Israel. To show just how hot the sauce is, they had a live fire blowing out the top of the board. I can't read Hebrew and have no idea what the copy says, but I'm not sure it's necessary at all!

Advertising Agency: Shalmor Avnon Amichay Y&R Interactive Tel Aviv, Israel Chief Creative Officer: Gideon Amichay Executive Creative Director: Tzur Golan Creative Director: Yariv Twig Art Directors: Karmel Kamal Abuzlef, Dror Nachumi Copywriter: Lior Shoham Executive Client Director: Adam Polachek Account Supervisor: Revital Levy Account Manager: Mor Elyashiv, Adi Netzer Planning Director: Yoni Lahav Planner: Zohar Reznik Photographer: Menachem Reiss Media: Nur Star Media Aired: August 2010

In a country that possesses the fiery Zulu Sauce, this is an obvious over-exaggeration of the spiciness of Tabasco (which is more about the distinct flavour than the heat). But it's got artwork that you're likely to remember every time you dig into a pasta or order a Bloody Mary:

Another great example of "less is more". Using "Chinese" characters that are made to look like faces of people struggling to cope with the heat of this sauce, the point is made.

  2. Super stuff! Creativity is a form of intelligence. It can get so interesting! The ads you've put up bring you so close to experiencing/tasting the product just by looking at the posters! :)
